I can relate so much to what you said, Hayley.

Even though I’m not building a community myself, I notice this same difficulty in finding people who truly want to participate and/or sincerely create a space for exchange and support — not just treat it as “a new audience” to eventually sell something to. It’s really frustrating.

Many times, I feel like a fish out of water, because the effort I make to connect often goes far beyond my own country, and still, I seem unable to find a place where I belong.

But I believe that art, as you yourself said, is so transcendent that it even helps us with this — overcoming language barriers. It is a language in itself, one that connects us.

I admire your tenacity and applaud you — and all the “makers and builders” who are putting their hands, voices, and faces forward to bring more warmth, the light of the Word, and to connect people.
